Okay, so I don’t know when I started listening to people talk on the radio…on purpose. As a young one, I couldn’t stand talk radio—give me music or turn it off! But something’s changed. Chalk it up to age or the arrival of podcasts and the influx of audiobooks; either way, I am all about a good story these days. Tell me a tale, why don’t you! Story-time, anyone? (Who says it’s just for the littles?)

So, when Mahogany dropped the first podcast series, Crimson Hearts Collide, I was like get the headphones and pass the popcorn! This romance follows Sonora, a high-powered lawyer in New York City who was raised in foster care thinking she had no family. Out of nowhere, Sonora learns that she had an uncle; not only has this uncle ‘bought the [proverbial] farm’ but he left her a farm, too—in Alabama, no less!

We follow Sonora down south to a small, rural town where she meets her uncle’s good friends who were like family. There’s Minnie who’s as sweet as the tea is, and there’s Zeke who’s part cowboy, part farmhand and all fine. Then, here comes Sonora’s long-lost cousin, Eloise, who’s come to lay claim to her inheritance. And if that wasn’t enough drama, Sonora is about to make partner! (Was about to make partner?) It’s complicated. Thankfully, Sonora has her homegirl, Kelsey to help her process. And, Mahogany fam, we’ve got each other.
