  1. I was not married but the love of my life was a great human being also .. we met in boarding in Lenox , Mass and stayed by each others side thru sickness and in health, thru thick thick and thin, he passed 9 years ago of pancreatic cancer and he thanked me everyday for taking care of him. We were together everyday . I miss him dearly but have wonderful memories from many years of being loved so much. He always told me Valentine’s Day was everyday. I always received flowers at work just because.

  4. Thank you for sharing, Charlotte. Women can never hear this enough. Don’t get involved with someone thinking you can change them. If you can’t accept them for who they are, move on. I’ve been married to my good guy for 50 years!

  5. I thought I was marrying an awesome man but he changed I am trying to grow to love him the way he needs to be loved. I tell him I will just enjoy this moment.

  7. I loved your love story thanks for sharing! I’m very blessed I married a great man with great character and I tell people “time flies when you’re in love.” You’re absolutely right u have to take your time to find the right mate & don’t think u can change anyone. Final advice is to pray and ask God to send you a mate with great character and don’t look for perfection.

  8. This is a really good article and very accurate. I am.aleays baffled how we think we can change others, when we are challenged with changing our own behaviors. If you meet someone and they don’t have all of the attributes you desire, are you able to deal with those shortcomings, knowing that you might have some as well.

  9. That is such a lovely love story. Thanks for sharing.
I have been BLESSED to have a husband of character so I totally get everything you are saying. I pray that God bless you with another husband just as great as your first, if that is your desire, most importantly God’s will for you. ❤

  11. I loved this story. It reminded me of my wife, whom I met at work and was married for 34 years and she passed away in 2018.

  12. Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for the reminder that God didn’t stop giving good character to men.
