  1. For me, its the realization that retirement is just around the corner. The worry that, as a single woman with no children, nieces or nephews, will be completely alone? Can I make it financially? And then the guilt…I know God is a provider, that He will never leave or forsake me. But these fears have popped up in this pandemic season, with elderly loved ones passing quickly, and the realization that I am moving into the elder stage of life. But Ekemini’s beautiful and honest words remind me that I am not alone, either in my emotions or my person. As I walk with Him, my Father will be there, providing all I need. Thank you Ekemin for pointing out that our God, who exists outside of time, does indeed hold my times in His hands.

    • Michele, thank you for sharing this very vulnerable and tender concern that looms over you. Those are questions I’ve often asked myself, too. Like you, the only thing that gives me hope and keeps my fears at bay is God’s promise that he will be with us always. I pray that God would confirm His care, provision, and love to you, sis. Thank you for sharing and may God bless you and surround you with good solid communal care.

  2. I remember reading a quote that said “worrying is like walking around with an umbrella waiting for it to rain”! That really resonated with me! Working hard to not let the anticipation of something bad happening, steal my joy! Thank you for this awesome article with the scripture correlation! God spoke to me through you this morning!
