  1. I enjoyed your article! My goodness you have tons of energy. I applaud your drive that has lead to success. Please me sure to manage your time for yourself. Your business and your peace and joy are 2 different things. As women we have been programmed to multi-task, however, ” me time” is necessary and doable.

    • OMG…I needed that reminder Martha! I struggle with tying my personal value to work and “being busy” and it’s something I’m aware of and working on! Thanks for the kind words!

  2. I am retiring in 3-4 years. I love teaching. I love learning from the ideas of young people. I made my boundaries choice 5 years ago. I was teaching regular school, night school and summer school. I gave up night and summer school and learned to live on a budget. I was helping my family and I was exhausted. Now I am free. I love it.

  3. Ms. Raya,
I got tired from even reading your email. I admire your drive and tenacity! Maybe it’s time to hire a personal assistant. It will help you free up some time, and at the same time use it as an apprenticeship for the PA. Dare to Self Care💅

  4. Great article. I always tell people you will work more hours and harder when it is your own business. Boundaries are a must in life. My niece lives in Austin, TX and I want her to connect with City Girl Savings.

  5. Excellent read and reminder! We all have dreams and goals, but we have to set priorities and boundaries, so necessary. Make sure you make time for taking care of yourself and thank God you learned the lesson early in life. Be encouraged!

  6. Thank you for this reminder for those of us beginning ventures. I find that struggle with a spouse, home life, writing, ventures, etc. I’ve learned not to buy into what everyone else is doing to push me into overload. I’m still working on a balance, strategies and systems but I concur! It’s not easy. I try to give to others what I need myself when necessary (girl gathers, brunch with no agenda, and long convos when I need them with like minded sisters) We are just now learning how to do this Boss-but not boss thing in this season!
